Biography
Brandon Szustakowski was born on August 2, 1991 in Buffalo, NY. After moving to Myrtle Beach, SC, he started to show some interest in the theatre and acting. He had always wanted to be on TV. After his parents split up in 2002, he told his mother about his interest. An ad on the radio advertised auditions at a nearby convention center, but he could not make it. His interest in acting was put to a halt until he attended Socastee High School. His drama teacher pushed him, and he tried out for his school musical, On The Town. While not landing a lead, he scored the supporting role of Mr. S. Uperman. His drama teacher was very impressed by this newcomer's faith in theatre, and she gave him a scholarship to attend a Summer Arts Academy, in 2006. There, Brandon learned how to act in front of cameras and learned movement and laban. He did workshops and improv, and the group also produced a play, for which Brandon auditioned, and landed one of the leads. He attended it again in 2007, this time being one of 18 teenagers to be picked from at least 100 auditionees. That year, he performed in an ensemble piece by Alan Haehnel. Soon after that summer, he enrolled at Myrtle Beach's Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology with a Theatre Major for his junior and senior year. There, he was featured in another play by Alan Haehnel with a principal role, which was used at the SCTA One Act Competition in 2007. The performance won the award for Best Technical Design.
